The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center (VAMC) & Regional Office Center (ROC) has an immediate opening for a full-time Psychiatrist to serve as both the Associate Chief of Staff for Behavioral Health and the Director of Mental Clinics. The Incumbent is responsible for the overall direction and leadership of the Mental Health Clinics and the Behavioral Health Specialty Programs. Includes the supervision of a variety of mental health care professionals and allied staff at the Medical Center and six Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The position reports directly to the Chief of Staff. Management experience required.

Tour of Duty: Monday-Friday, hours may vary. Relocation expenses are authorized. The Robert J. Dole VAMC&ROC is a primary and secondary care facility. It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary care, secondary care, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, visual impairment, spinal cord dysfunction, prosthetic laboratory and extended care services. The medical center serves veterans living in 59 counties of the state. Wichita's 2006 estimated population of 361,420 made it the 51st largest city in the country and the most populous city in Kansas.

Wichita has a number of art and historical museums, a zoo, and a planetarium. In the 20th century, aircraft pioneers such as Clyde Cessna and Walter Beech began projects that would lead to Wichita’s establishment as the ’Air Capital of the World’. Wichita has evolved into a cultural and entertainment center. The downtown district offers nightclubs, restaurants, shopping centers, museums and parks. A 15,000 seat arena in the middle of Wichita is under construction with completion slated for January 2010. Several universities are in Wichita, the largest being Wichita State University with an enrollment of 15,000 students. McConnell Air Force Base is nearby.

In July 2006, CNN/Money and Money magazine ranked Wichita 9th on its list of the 10 best U.S. big cities in which to live. In 2008, MSN Real Estate ranked Wichita 1st on its list of most affordable cities. Wichita has won the national distinction of All American City not once...but four times

· Salary: 175,000.00 - 235,000.00 USD per year. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

· Physicians are also entitled to earn up to and additional 7.5% of salary (not to exceed $15,000) under the Physicians Performance Pay.

· Relocation Incentive authorized for highly qualified candidates
