Psychiatrist (Geropsychiatry)
Topeka, KS

The incumbent will be assigned to address the needs in the geropsychiatry setting. They will be responsible for the continuing management of geropsychiatric inpatients and coordination of medical care, while working closely with the Treatment Team. Privileges will consist of, admissions, diagnosis, work-up, and provision of treatment including consultation for patients who suffer from various mental health disorders.

This position functions as part of a psychiatric care team working with other physicians, physician extenders, nurses and/or other support staff. Primary and secondary medical services are provided in the General and Medical portions of the medical center. This level of service, as well as tertiary care, is also provided to the psychiatric areas

· Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

· New appointees to the VA may be eligible to apply for an education loan reimbursement award under the provisions of the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – based on eligibility and availability

· Recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized for highly qualified candidate

· Salary Range: 96,539.00 - 175,000.00 USD per year. Base Pay-Market pay to be determined. Salary is based on the nature & extent of professional education, training & experience and in some instances, by the assignment

· Physicians are also entitled to earn up to and additional 7.5% of salary (not to exceed $15,000) under the Physicians Performance Pay.
